Hail to the Heroes of Valhalla!

It is with great pride and happiness that I tell you that my fire chief and
good friend, Bob Conti, has moved on towards the higher realms of the
Yggdrasil.  He went down the other night, after a large feast and family
party amongst his family and friends.  He'd been fighting death for the last
couple of days, defying the odds, but the All-Father decided that there was
a place for him in the higher realm.

I know this because of a rune pull I did upon hearing exactly when he
passed: Gebo, Tiwaz, Thurisaz.  This rune pull is perfectly significant of
his life, death, and rebirth.

He lived a life of constant gift giving and exchanging.  He trained many
firefighters whom he chose specifically as his students, including myself.
He gave the gift of knowledge in the past, to fight Surtr and the fire ents,
and bring order to chaotic fire.  Hence Gebo.

He passed on today of all days -- Tyrsday -- and Tiwaz was pulled in the
present.  As a firefighter and active fighting chief, he lived a life of
discipline, self sacrifice, and high martial worth, and he promoted justice
and order.  There is no coincidence that he moved on today.

Last but not least, his future and rebirth is bright, for Thurisaz is in his

He died an elder warrior, a firefighting general, and although he was not
killed in the line of duty, I know and trust in Odin's and Freyja's great
wisdom that they will most definitely utilize such a great firefighting mind
and body within the halls of Valhalla or Sessrumnir.

I am not sad for him, and I will do my best to help my fellow firefighters
celebrate his life, rather than grieve over his death.  We will raise many
glasses in his honor.....and I'll make sure to raise a horn.

Hail Odin, All-Father!
Hail the folk!
Hail Chief Robert Conti!
